Covid relief funding

How we spent the Department for Transport’s (DfT) Covid recovery funding to support public transport during the pandemic

Norfolk County Council received £7.5m from the DfT for the period 17 March 2020 to 5 April 2022. This was to support public transport services that were wholly or partly subsidised by the Council.

This was because fewer people were travelling by bus and operators were therefore losing revenue from fares. Operators also had increased costs for things like cleaning and protective equipment
