Planned roadworks

Coronavirus disruptions

Norfolk County Council and its contractors have suspended work on council schemes and made any existing sites safe. However, essential maintenance work along Norfolk roads will still continue.

It is vital that our roads, verges and public rights of way are safe for use and that our depots and supply chains remain open, both during lockdown and as we emerge from this difficult period. We cannot afford to let our road structure deteriorate and an unmanageable backlog of maintenance work develop for the future.

Local roads maintenance is often managed by our private sector partners whose teams are keeping our roads well maintained and safe during this unprecedentedly difficult period. Our teams are working under extremely difficult conditions, following safety guidelines and practising social distancing wherever possible.

Some utility companies will also still need to work in the highway to carry out essential work. Our coordination teams are still on hand to coordinate this work.

You can find a map of scheduled roadworks, road closures and diversions in Norfolk on the roadworks.org website.  Search by road name or area to find roadworks near you.  You can also filter by date to view future disruptions.
