Who pays the fees for pupils’ exams?

Pupils in school will have their examination entry fees paid by the Local Education Authority provided they have been entered for exams considered by the school to be appropriate to their age, ability and aptitude.

Can a school charge a fee to enter my child in an exam?

Schools will normally pay the exam fee for a pupil’s first sitting of the exam. However, if you have made a requested the entry or it is a re-sit the school can charge you for the exam costs. Any further queries – talk to the school’s exam officer.
