This free business training programme is for anyone looking to start their own business or go self-employed. It's also for early-stage businesses that have started within the last 24 months and would benefit from training and support.

Delivered by trainers from MENTA Business, it consists of four sessions (online or in-person) covering key aspects of starting a business (business planning, marketing, bookkeeping, journey to net zero) as well as one-to-one support sessions.

Business Start-up Grant

As part of the Start-up programme, we have launched a new Business Start-Up Grant to help aspiring Norfolk business owners get their businesses up and running successfully.

Start-up and recently established small and micro businesses (trading for less than 24 months and under £250,000 projected first year turnover), based in Norfolk, may apply for grants of between £300 and £1500 to assist with the purchase of equipment, stock, marketing or professional services that will kick-start establishing the business.

Grants may be used to fund projects or activities costing in the range of £400 to £2500, with a self-invested applicant contribution required of 25% (for projects of £400-£500), 30% (for projects of £501-£1000) or 40% (for projects of £1001-£2500).

Specially trained staff from BIPC Norfolk can give you free, confidential one-to-one guidance on a range of IP topics up to, but not including, legal advice.

For legal advice, we also offer free sessions with a Birketts LLP Chartered Trade Mark Attorney.

The programme provides tailored workshops and one-to-one advice from leading business experts on everything from marketing and branding to financial planning and product innovation.
