Naming ceremonies are a special way to celebrate the arrival of your baby, or to welcome adoptive children or step-children into their new extended family.
Although naming ceremonies have no legal status, they offer an opportunity for parents to celebrate a new arrival into the family with the people closest to them, in a non-religious ceremony and setting.
You can hold your ceremony at one of our registration offices, at a venue licensed by the County Council, or at a place of your choosing.
If you are planning to hold your ceremony at an approved venue, you will also need to ensure your local registrars are available to conduct your ceremony. Do not pay a deposit until you have done this.
Monday to Thursday - £250
Friday/Saturday - £350
Sunday/Bank Holiday - £295
If the celebration is to be held in one of our ceremony suites including the Colman Gallery and Great Yarmouth Town Hall on a Friday or Saturday, there will be an additional room hire fee of £65 to be added. Any celebration taking place after 5pm will incur an additional charge of £50.
All prices are inclusive of £200 deposit.
We will ask you to pay the balance of the fee 12 weeks before your ceremony.
If you wish to hold this event at your home or at an unlicensed venue (for example a local village hall) then a location and contact report may be required. The purpose for the report is to appraise the location for the ceremony and to have the opportunity to meet with you to run through a few things to assist on the day. The report will include what will happen on the day in case of bad weather (if the ceremony is to be held outside). There will be a fee for this report to be carried out. The fee is currently £35.
*There will be additional fees payable to the venue.
