18-24 months.

Qualification

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care.

You may be required to take Functional Skills maths and English at Level 2 if you do not already hold the equivalent GCSE grade 4-9 or (old system A*-C).

Job role

Leaders in Adult Care workers have responsibility for managing community or residential based services. The roles can be varied but are likely to include:

• Registered Service Manager
• Personal Assistant in a Managerial Role
• Deputy or Assistant Manager
• Residential or Nursing Home Manager
• Community Day Centre Manager
• Domiciliary Care Manager

Delivery

• Workplace/workshop learning
• 1 to 1 support from assessor to apprentice
• Online learning environment to support learning throughout the apprenticeship
• Professional and recognised qualification

Progression

• Social Worker Level 6 with integrated degree
