How we set this year's budget
At its meeting on 17 February 2026, Norfolk County Council set a £614m net budget for 2026-27.
The decision means the County Council's share of band D Council Tax bills will rise to £1,843.38. This is approximately £35 a week.
The Council consulted on 2026-27 budget proposals from 27 October to 15 December 2025. County councillors considered the findings from consultation as part of the evidence used to help make decisions about budget proposals.
The budget includes investment of £105m to meet cost and other pressures in services including:
- £37m in adult social care and
- £31m in children's services
The budget will require the Council to make savings of £42m.
