Membership
Being a member of a Local Access Forum (LAF) allows you to give advice and opinions on matters that might impact access to land for the purposes of 'open-air recreation.' LAFs were first established in the Countryside and Rights of Way Act, 2000, which made them a "statutory consultee" on any issue, policy or planning development that has access-related elements. This means planners must listen to advice given from the LAF, in turn making the forum the best place to impact big decisions that affect local communities.
The Norfolk Local Access Forum (NLAF) also supports Norfolk County Council in developing and delivering its 'Access Improvement Plan,' which directly benefits public access across Norfolk.
Would you like to have a voice in your community?
The Norfolk Local Access Forum (NLAF) is looking for new members. The forum allows for up to 22 volunteers, who can be active from a period of between one and three years.
To become a member of the NLAF, you must be a user of local rights of way, own or occupy access land or land where local rights of way exist or have interests relevant to the local access areas.
Members do not have to be specialists or employed in work relating to public access but should be enthusiastic and engaged.
