Progress updates
So far in Norfolk, we have planted 486,825 trees and hedge plants towards the 1 Million Trees for Norfolk goal, with thousands more planned this season!
Trees have been planted across the county through several different schemes at a wide variety of sites. Take a look at what has been achieved so far:

- Planting progress information (Accessible PDF) (PDF, 109 KB)
We will update these figures monthly.
Tell us about trees you have planted
Knowing where trees and hedges have been planted will help us to understand where Norfolk's coverage is growing and its future impact. If you've planted any trees or hedges since November 2019, you could be part of Norfolk's 1 Million Trees story by adding to the tree and hedge count.

What else we're doing
- Hedge, tree and woodland planting on Norfolk County Council-owned farms that we rent out to farmers (County Farms), including working in partnership with The Tree Council and Woodland Trust
- Trees Outside Woodland trials looking at innovative and sustainable new ways to increase tree cover. These are funded by HM Government and delivered in partnership with The Tree Council, Natural England, DEFRA and four other councils. Planting has included working with landowners and farmers to establish various types of tree planting in the farmed landscape and planting 5 mini Miyawaki forests to compare the effect of different planting methods on establishment success.
- Supporting Norfolk Wildlife Trust Claylands tree planting
- Planning the planting of thousands more trees on our own land this coming season, and beyond
- Continuing to establish a Community Tree Nursery at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse. Find out how you can get involved to help set up and run the nursery.
What else we've done
- Norfolk County Councillor Community Tree Pack Scheme - free tree and hedge packs for parish councils and community groups across the county
- Free tree packs given away for planting across Norfolk as part of the Trees Outside Woodlands project
- Jubilee Trees for Norfolk scheme - which gave people in Norfolk the chance to apply for free tree packs up to 50% off their original cost
