Bus service operators grant

We get £1,056,189 each year from the Department for Transport (DfT) to support our bus operators and to provide services and public transport related infrastructure like shelters and interchanges.

In 2024/2025 we spent it towards:

• Thetford bus interchange running costs: £24k
• Cromer travel hub running costs: £9k

As we have been receiving a separate Bus Grant since 2022 (called the Bus Service Improvement Plan grant) we didn't need to use all our Bus Service Operator's Grant last year so the remainder was put into reserves to spend when we need it later to continue to support vital public transport services.
