About Transport for King's Lynn

The King's Lynn Transport Strategy sets out a long‑term plan to improve how people travel in and around the town. It focuses on supporting growth, improving connectivity, and providing safer, healthier and more sustainable travel options for everyone.

The updated Strategy was formally adopted by Norfolk County Council and the Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk in March 2026. It replaces the previous 2020 Strategy and reflects changes in travel patterns, local priorities and national transport policy.

The Strategy looks ahead to 2035 and identifies the key projects, schemes and improvements needed to support new homes, jobs and services across King's Lynn. This includes developments in West Winch, Gaywood, North Lynn, South Lynn, North Wootton and South Wootton.

It also includes an Implementation Plan, which outlines potential projects across all modes of travel, including:

  • Walking and cycling
  • Public transport
  • Roads
  • Placemaking
