Start-up business training programme

This free business training programme is for anyone looking to start their own business or go self-employed. It's also for early-stage businesses that have started within the last 24 months and would benefit from training and support.

Delivered by trainers from MENTA Business, it consists of four sessions (online or in-person) covering key aspects of starting a business (business planning, marketing, bookkeeping, journey to net zero) as well as one-to-one support sessions.

One-to-one advice

We've teamed up with some great organisations to offer free advice sessions on business growth, starting your business, accounting and commercial legal topics.

Those involved include Larking Gowen Chartered Accountants, Leathes Prior Solicitors and NatWest.

One-to-one intellectual property guidance

Specially trained staff from BIPC Norfolk can give you free, confidential one-to-one guidance on a range of IP topics up to, but not including, legal advice.

For legal advice, we also offer free sessions with a Birketts LLP Chartered Trade Mark Attorney.

Free growth programme for creative businesses

Our partner, the British Library, is running a new scale-up programme for creative businesses. Get Ready for Business Growth is an Arts Council England funded programme designed to help creative businesses that are looking to grow. It is bespoke to each business's needs, entirely free and takes place online.

The programme provides tailored workshops and one-to-one advice from leading business experts on everything from marketing and branding to financial planning and product innovation.

To be eligible, applicants should have an annual turnover of £80k+ and be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours over three months.
