Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership

Every local authority in the country has a plan for Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements (MASAs). The Local Authority, Health and Police are responsible for implementing MASAs. The statutory partners work to make sure that children are protected from harm and that their welfare is promoted. Locally, we know this arrangement as the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership or NSCP. Representatives from all phases of education also play a crucial role. We recognise these representatives as statutory partners.

A discrete business unit supports the NSCP. This unit enables the statutory partners to work with the wider partnership. The NSCP:

  • Makes sure that people working with children carry out their safeguarding responsibilities as required by law
  • Provides multi-agency training for professionals on many topics such as:
    • Neglect
    • Child sexual abuse
    • Family networking
    • Professional curiosity and challenge
    • Vulnerable adolescents
    • Harmful sexual behaviour (free training and workshops)

You can find more information regarding training, and information about safeguarding children for professionals, parents and carers and children on the NSCP website
