Sessional work

You may be asked or choose to do sessional work as a foster carer. Sessional work includes:

• Being a member of a foster panel
• Acting as foster carer representative at training or recruitment events
• Being a member of a formally-established working group
• Shift work at a New Roads hub

You will be paid:

• £9.50 per hour, or
• £14.45 per hour if you are co-presenting a training course

These payments are classed as taxable earnings. You will need to claim them on the Children's Provider Portal (ContrOCC).

You will also be able to:

• Claim travel expenses
• Claim childcare expenses
