Norfolk and Waveney ICS Suicide Prevention Strategy 2024-2028
The Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System Suicide Prevention Strategy 2024-2028 (PDF, 741 KB) will build on the progress made so far in addressing the risk factors and increasing the protective factors around suicide.
Individuals, communities, workplaces, and organisations that serve communities all have a role to play in preventing suicide. We welcome everyone to read the strategy.

- 12th Man: working with community businesses that employ or serve men, and interest groups that have high male memberships to deliver mental health training in these settings.

- Norfolk and Waveney Mind: funded Mental Health First Aid and Awareness training for small and medium-sized enterprises and voluntary, community, or social enterprise organisations in Norfolk.
Free online learning
- Zero Suicide Alliance - Free online training aims to enable people to identify when someone is showing suicidal thoughts and behaviours, talk to them confidently, and signpost the individual to services or support.
- NHS - Every Mind Matters includes wellbeing advice on how to lift our mood or ease anxiety.
- Five Ways to Wellbeing outlines five steps that everyone can take to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Children and young people
- Supportive Response to Self Harm (SORTS) free training has been co-produced by a team of academic psychologists, school staff and mental health professionals. The module aims to help school staff provide a supportive response to students who self-harm.
- Samaritans 'Step by Step' practical support to help schools prepare for, and deal with, the repercussions of suicide or attempted suicide.
- Preventing Suicide: lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender young people toolkits to help nurses understand mental health issues in relation to LGBT sexual orientation and identity in young people.

Public Health England (PHE), Business in the Community and Samaritans have joined forces to produce Toolkits for employers:

- Mind's Blue Light Programme - provides mental health support for emergency services staff and volunteers from ambulance, fire, police, and search and rescue services across England and Wales.
