Modern slavery and human trafficking

Modern day slavery and trafficking unfortunately continues. However, by making sure the right checks and rigorous standards are in place, the process can be made a lot safer for everyone.

Eliminating racism in the workplace guidance

We have published guidance and training on how to eliminate racism at work, so that you know:

  • How to recognise racism at work and its impact
  • What to do if you, a colleague, a co-worker, someone you manage or a service user is affected by racism
  • Your employer's responsibilities to keep you safe if you are affected by racism
  • What managers should do if a service user is racist towards a worker, but the service user has limited capacity to understand the impact of their behaviour

1-2-1 practice support for care provider managers

If you are manager dealing with a practice issue at work relating to racism and want to understand what best practice in the sector looks like, you can book a private 1-2-1 session with an experienced professional.

These professionals cannot offer you legal advice, but they offer a supportive space in which you can discuss your issue and learn more about best practice. This may help you to decide what is the right course of action for your organisation.

Contact equalities@norfolk.gov.uk for more information or to book a session.
