Marriott's Way improvement plan
In February and March of 2015, public consultations were carried out to help identify what the priorities for improvements on Marriott's Way should be.
The public consultations involved an online survey, a user survey out on the Marriott's Way itself, and 5 public 'drop-in' consultation events in towns and villages on the route.
Informed by these consultations, the Marriott's Way Improvement and Delivery Plan (PDF, 11 MB) has been produced. The Plan outlines the improvements that the local authorities and organisations who own and manage the route would like to make to it during the 10 year period from 2015 - 2025.
An Action Plan (PDF, 9 MB) has been drawn up and forms an appendix to the Improvement and Delivery Plan. It is intended to keep the Action Plan updated as new funding sources become available during 2015-25.
The initial Action Plan is focused on the section of Marriott's Way between Norwich and Thorpe Marriott, where funding to make improvements for cycling commuters has been made available by the Greater Norwich Growth Board.
This funding comes from the Community Infrastructure Levy paid by the developers of new housing in the Greater Norwich area to fund Green Infrastructure improvements.
