Q and A from sponsors

Who will be leading on the build programme?

The Local Authority is applying to DfE to lead the capital programme on both schools. We have a good track record, with NPS, and feel there are benefits to sponsors given our expertise.

With several Trusts applying, how does Create manage conflict of interest?

Create:Schools ensure that they provide factual advice and guidance to all interested MATs and, due to the size of their team, are able to minimise overlap in terms of those providing advice and those involved in the decision making element. However, in particular the final decision is the DfE's with support from the LA. Create: School's focus is to maximise the quality of bids going through.

Downham Market: Are you confident that Sport England will be happy with you using the playing field to build on?

We start the process of engaging early with statutory consultees (of which one Sport England is one) so we will need to be able to demonstrate there is sufficient land left for a playing field, with the appropriate pitches included.

Great Yarmouth: Question on number of non-ambulant children and how this relates to the building.

Complex needs schools classified as ambulant (but this provides for up to 10% non-ambulant pupils)
