RIPPLE

RIPPLE: A research project about mental health and well-being in Mundesley and Walcott/Ostend

Improving Climate Psychological Preparedness for Coastal Communities

Mental ill health is a serious issue in coastal communities. These communities experience disproportionate climate-related risks such as flooding and erosion. This can lead to worsening health inequalities.

RIPPLE aims to improve how coastal communities prepare for climate-related psychological impacts. We will do this by working with local partners and residents.

The project focuses on two main objectives:

  • Understanding the long-term mental health issues these communities face
  • Creating strategies to prevent them

RIPPLE aims to boost the psychological wellbeing and preparedness of coastal communities. This will help communities handle climate-related challenges better and become more resilient.
