Norfolk County Council to host Travel Norfolk, Travel Electric event

Norfolk County Council will host Travel Norfolk, Travel Electric, an event showcasing and celebrating electric vehicles (EVs). Taking place at the Forum in Norwich on Friday 18 July, the event will give people the chance to test drive the latest electric cars and bicycles well as watch presentations from leading figures at the forefront of Norfolk's EV revolution.

This free event, organised in partnership with Let's Experience Electric, offers a unique opportunity for businesses and members of the public to explore the latest in EV technology and sustainability.

Attendees can expect an electrifying lineup of experiences, including:

  • Test Drives - Get behind the wheel of a wide range of EV cars and take electric bikes for a spin.
  • Industry Insights - Hear from leading experts about cutting-edge innovations powering Norfolk's and the UK's EV revolution.
  • Networking Opportunities - Connect with businesses, dealers, and fellow EV users to exchange ideas and experiences.
  • Expert Advice - Specialists will be available to answer questions for anyone considering making the switch to electric.
  • Exhibitions - Discover success stories from organisations already benefitting from EV adoption.

Cllr Graham Plant, cabinet member for Highways, infrastructure and transport said, "I'm looking forward to the Travel Norfolk, Travel Electric event in July, which will be a fantastic showcase of the wide range of electric vehicles available. I'm especially eager to hear from businesses that have embraced EVs and benefited from Norfolk County Council's efforts to make it easier for people across the county to choose this greener, cleaner form of travel."

The event comes as Norfolk County Council completes its latest round of EV charger installations in Norwich, working with EV chargepoint provider Blink, Norfolk County Council have installed 47 Electric Vehicle Charging Points (EVCPs) in the city, with a fifth and final phase due to start in the summer. Alongside this, Norfolk's EV transformation continues with the announcement that Norfolk has been awarded £6,468,000 for the government's Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) fund, which is government money that supports local authorities in England to plan and deliver charging infrastructure for residents without off-street parking.
