What to do when the road is closed

When Welney Wash Road is flooded it will be closed. The road will not be passable for any vehicles, including HGVs. You should follow the diamond symbols on these signed diversion routes.

Wisbech to Ely via March (southbound)

Follow the A47, A141 and A142 from Wisbech to Ely via Guyhirn, March and Chatteris.

Ely to Wisbech via Downham Market (northbound)

Follow the A10, A1122 and A1101 from Ely to Wisbech via Littleport, Downham Market and Outwell.

WWT Welney Wetland Centre

During closures, access to the WWT Welney Wetland Centre is from the south at Littleport along the A1101.
