Timeline and documents
Below are some key milestones in our anticipated delivery timetable for the project over the next few years. Some of these timescales are subject to receiving all the necessary approvals that we need before we can start construction and the Department for Transport approving the Full Business Case, which confirms their full funding contribution.
2026
- Surveys and preparatory work on site, including work by National Gas Transmission to divert two gas mains (necessary before construction on the new road can start)
- Design and build contractor appointed
- Costain awarded the contract to complete the detailed design and build the road
2027
- Full Business Case approval, releasing Department for Transport funding needed for construction
- Further preparatory and ecological mitigation work on site
- Start of construction
2028
West Winch Housing Access Road open for use
2029
Work related to the project completed on site
