Biodiversity Duty Reports
Biodiversity Duty Reports are statutory duties that require all public authorities in England to report on how we conserve and enhance biodiversity when carrying out our work.
Reporting on Biodiversity Duty is a requirement of the 2021 Environment Act.
First Consideration October 2024
In this report we planned out what we could do to conserve and enhance biodiversity across our work. It highlights existing policies and activities that we do that are already contributing to improving biodiversity. The report also demonstrates where additional work can be taken.

Biodiversity Duty Report 2024-2026
This report sets out the work we have taken to improve biodiversity between 1 January 2024 and 1 January 2026.
Over the two years we have worked closely with different teams across the council and have embedded biodiversity improvement in:
- Land management
- Planning
- Infrastructure
- Environmental policy
