David Bick has been elected as the new leader of Norfolk County Council and has appointed his cabinet team. 

Councillor David Bick, leader of the council's 40-member Reform group, was elected at the council's annual general meeting on Thursday, 28 May.

Cllr Bick told the meeting: "We will have a laser focus on value for money and providing the best possible services." 

The new cabinet members are: 

  • David Bick (Thetford West), Leader, Budget Responsibility 
  • Robin Hunter-Clarke (Dereham South), Deputy Leader, Strategy & Local Government Reorganisation 
  • Justine Thomas (Acle), Chief Whip & Budget Responsibility 
  • Scott Hussey (The Brecks), Adult Social Care & Public Health 
  • Wendy Atkinson (Woodside), Children, Families & SEND 
  • Kabeer Kher (Yare & Necton), Business, Skills & Agriculture 
  • Tom Dickerson (Launditch), Highways & Transport 
  • Nick Taylor (Hellesdon), Commercial Assets & Revenue Generation 
  • Pat Gould (Downham Market), Countryside, Coast & Culture 
  • Jason Butler (Drayton & Horsford), Efficiency, Performance & Pensions Oversight. 

The same meeting appointed Councillor Julian Kirk as chair of the county council and Councillor Mike Westman as vice-chair. Councillors from all parties paid tribute to the outgoing chair, Tom FitzPatrick.
