A11 northbound slip

Details of work:

• Kerbing and surfacing work on the A11 slip road and at its junction with Colney lane
• Installation of separator islands on the slip road to provide protection for cyclists
• Installation of signing for a permanent 'Prohibition of Motor Vehicles - except for access' restriction on the service road from Round House Way to the A11 northbound slip (this service road is called Newmarket Road)
• Extension of shared use path to link with housing on Willowcroft Way
• Extension of advisory cycle contraflow with retained parking
• Widening of shared use path and additional safety enhancements

Reasons for work:

• This work was part of the improvements to the Cringleford section of the blue pedalway, which links Hethersett to the city centre.
