Dads Matter

Introduction to Dads Matter

Dads Matter is a course supporting fathers across Norfolk.

Whether a father is living with his children or apart from them, his role in their upbringing is of huge importance. We welcome not just biological dads but any significant male role model in the child's life. This includes stepdads and uncles.

We are also offering sessions for Fathers of Children with Disabilities (where a social worker has been allocated).

Dads Matter is not a parenting course, it's a course for parents.

What dads said about Dads Matter

"I'm not one for meetings or groups but coming along, dads sharing their experience was a surprise and an eye opener."

"I can see the results of what I've learnt on this course."

"Anger was my preset but one day after attending the course I decided rather than get angry, I hugged her. Since then she has stopped reacting angrily. Dads Matter has given me a chance to step out of the way I was and try a new approach."

"I've learnt things I never knew about the baby before it's born."

"Dads Matter has been very important to me, to have somewhere to come and gain understanding of myself as well as my children. Helps with fathers and their relationship with the social worker."
