Opening times

1 October–31 March 9am–4pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday

1 April–30 September 9am–5pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday

This recycling centre may be periodically closed for periods of up to 30 mins during opening hours. This is due to health and safety whilst service vehicles empty or change the bins.

Open as usual on bank holidays but closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day

Located about half a mile off the A134. Leave the A134 heading towards Crimplesham. Site is on the right and signposted from the A134.

Items you can and cannot bring

Types of waste we accept/do not accept at all our recycling centres.

We accept DIY waste at this site using the Pay As You Throw service.

We don’t accept hazardous waste (eg asbestos, paint).

Gas bottles are currently not accepted at Wereham due to nesting birds. The nearest alternative are King's Lynn or Dereham Main Plus Recycling Centres, or Ashill Recycling Centre.

Additional information

This site has a Reuse Shop, where you can buy or donate unwanted items, including things like crockery, records, books, bikes and furniture. We welcome any household items that can be resold. Speak to an on-site recycling advisor for more information.

We sell compost at all our recycling centres, for £3.50 a bag. The bags are hand-filled to approximately 40 litres.

You can pay with cash (up to £10), credit and debit card (chip and pin and contactless).

Assistance dogs are permitted at all our sites.

Using our recycling centre

Our recycling centres are organised using separate containers for different materials which are all signed. Staff can help you find the right place to put your waste.

To speed things up when you get to the recycling centre, it helps if you separate your recycling before your visit.

Please bring your waste in manageable loads that you can easily move to the containers. If you need extra assistance staff can help if asked, but you may have to wait at busy times. However, staff are not obliged to lift items. Please do not use large sacks as these block pathways and access to the containers.

Staff may ask you where the waste has come from if you are bringing large quantities to ensure it is your own household waste. In some cases you may be asked to sign a disclaimer form.

Please abide by the rules of the recycling centre and follow the advice of the staff.

Our recycling centres are organised using separate containers for different materials, eg bins for cardboard, scrap metal, timber and garden waste. Our staff will help you find the right place to put your waste.

We don’t have any height or width restrictions at any of the recycling centres, all have wide access and no barriers. Any domestic car, van, trailer etc. will be able to gain access.

Vehicles can usually get within two metres of the containers due to safety barriers and pedestrian walkways.  Staff will always be available to give advice, which must be followed for health and safety reasons.

For safety, please keep your children in your vehicle while you are at the recycling centre and wear suitable clothing, footwear and gloves when visiting the site.
