Herring Bridge (Third River Crossing)

The Great Yarmouth Third River Crossing links the A47 at Harfrey's roundabout to the port and the enterprise zone via South Denes Road on the other side of the River Yare. The new bridge has eased traffic congestion on the town's roads, shortened journey times and improved journey reliability and will support wider plans to maximise investment, regeneration and economic growth opportunities across the town and wider borough.

The bridge was fully opened to road traffic on Thursday 1 February 2024 with final public realm works on Bollard Quay due to be complete later this year.

A special telephone helpline is available on 0800 083 8160 for any construction queries whilst work is completed or you can email gy3rc@bamfarrans.com. Read our privacy notice to find out how we use your personal information.

All marine vessels must book passage under the bridge. Full details are available on the Herring Bridge information and booking page
