Adopted adults

Adoption is a lifelong journey, and you may have reached a point where you want to understand more about your past, your identity, or your connections. At Norfolk Adoption Service, we recognise that this can be a significant and sometimes emotional time.

We offer support to adopted adults of all ages, including access to birth and adoption records, guidance in understanding this information, and opportunities to receive counselling or emotional support where needed. Our aim is to provide a safe, respectful and supportive service, helping you explore your history at your own pace.

We also offer advice about tracing birth relatives, and signposting to additional national organisations that can support you throughout your journey. We can also advise on how to document a wish for no contact, should a birth relative or intermediary service make an approach searching for you.
