UK100 Network Partnership

UK100 Network Partnership logo

In 2022 Norfolk County Council became a member of the UK100 Network. This network, comprised of elected councillors and leaders and supported by officers, is a UK-wide network of local leaders who have pledged to lead a rapid transformation to Net Zero ahead of the government's legal target.

The purpose of the UK100 network is to provide a space for local leaders to convene to support a locally-led transition to Net Zero and Clean Air. As a collaborative network that brings together the most influential local leaders across the country, it decides what are the priorities and what regulatory change is needed to enable a smooth and efficient transition to Net Zero. The UK100 network provides network members with the knowledge, tools and connection to make this transition possible.

Norfolk County Council is also a member of UK100's Countryside Climate Network. This network is for local authorities which are predominantly rural and therefore have specific challenges that urban authorities do not face to the same extent. This group meets quarterly to discuss relevant legislation and projects that could be well-suited for rural local authorities.

Norfolk County Council is represented by both the leader and the cabinet member responsible for the environment at UK100 Network meetings.
