Local Full Fibre Network
Norfolk secured £8m funding from the Department for Digital Culture, Media and Sport to connect high speed fibre to 318 public sector locations across the county.
This was topped up in 2021 by another £2m from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MCHLG), following another successful bid to supply a further 100 public buildings.
As well as improving the digital connectivity, efficiency and effectiveness of our public sector services, the project increased opportunities for residents and businesses in its areas to take advantage of the extended fibre network. By 2024 an additional 2,500 homes and businesses had benefitted from commercial operators exploiting the infrastructure installed under LFFN.
The LFFN project is now complete.
