Improving broadband for Norfolk
Norfolk County Council are already delivering improvements to the digital infrastructure within Norfolk. We're operating several programmes that are already benefiting local businesses and the community.
In 2011 only 42% of Norfolk properties had a connection to superfast broadband. The majority of these were in the larger urban centres, particularly Norwich. This coverage figure now stands at over 95% across Norfolk, and continues to grow.
The focus is now on providing Gigabit capable broadband in Norfolk. Project Gigabit is underway, delivering gigabit capable broadband to 80,000 premises across Norfolk, focusing on the harder to reach locations
Previous programmes to deliver superfast broadband to Norfolk have included:
- BBfN (Better Broadband for Norfolk)
- LFFN (Local Full Fibre Network)
