Reading groups

Reading alone is good but meeting and chatting about books is even better.

Reading group card

If you run a book club, ask at your local library about our reading group card.

The card lets you reserve up to 15 copies of any title that:

  • Has been in library stock for at least six months
  • Is available in paperback
  • Is not heavily requested

We have a list of recommended reads - perfect for book club discussions. You can browse the list online or if you'd like a list you can share with your book group members, email libraries.iconnect@norfolk.gov.uk and we'll send you a copy.

If you'd like to reserve titles for your book club:

  • Check the list of available titles
  • Draw up a shortlist of two or three titles that you'd like
  • Have your reading group card ready
  • Visit your local library where staff will be happy to help, or call 0344 800 8020 between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday

We'll place the reservations for you and add the £2 reservation fee (for up to 15 copies of the book) to your reading group card or payment. If your book club has signed up for email notifications, we'll let you know when the books are ready to collect.

We also have an eBook collection on our Overdrive website which is perfect for book club discussions. The collection contains over 100 titles chosen by library staff and available to download at any time. Find out how you can borrow eBooks free of charge.
