RAS funding tables

The tables set out below shows what Norfolk County Council thinks is the right funding for social care individual budgets for disabled children. The bands link RAS questionnaire total scores to descriptions of support needs.

Funding for primary aged school children

Small Support - Low Level Needs
A small amount of funding is available to support a child's involvement in activities they enjoy in order to meet health and wellbeing outcomes 
 70-115 £500
At this score an Individual Budget may be required to support access to universal services to meet the child's needs. 116-130 £1,000
This score suggests that the child has a mix of needs and requires an Individual Budget for support to access specific activities for a period of time. 131-145 £1,500
Some Support - Moderate Support Needs
The child has continuing support needs and will require an Individual Budget to meet assessed needs to achieve wellbeing and health and ensure there are short breaks
 146-160 £2,800 
The child has more continuing support needs and will require an Individual Budget to sustain a range of community activities and relationships to achieve outcomes and ensure short breaks 161-170 £4,000
Indicates the highest level of some support needs and there is a mix of needs identified including some 1:1 support. An Individual Budget and social work support will be offered to supplement universal and targeted services required if universal services cannot meet the child's needs. 171-185 £6,000
Lots of Support - High Level Needs
The child has a range of significant needs and requires one to one support Constantly. They will require substantial funding through an Individual Budget and social work support to ensure that they meet health and wellbeing outcomes and the family have a short break.
 186-200 £8,500
Indicates a higher level of 'Lots of Support' with some scores indicating exceptional support in some areas. A substantial Individual Budget and social work support is required to ensure services meet health and wellbeing outcomes and the family have a short break.  201-210 £10,000
Exceptional Support - Very Complex Needs and/or Exceptional Circumstances
The child has complex and exceptional support needs and will require 2:1 staffing to provide support. A multidisciplinary approach, substantial Social Care Individual Budget and social work support is required to ensure services meet health and wellbeing outcomes and the family have a short break.
