Care leavers aged 21-25

Happy young man

We can offer care leavers support from a personal adviser (PA) until you turn 25.

Closed cases

If you are a care leaver age 21-25 and your case has been closed to support from Life Beyond Care but you would like some advice or guidance then contact your previous Life Beyond Care team.

If you are unsure who your team was or want more information please contact Norfolk County Council. Someone will get back to you within three working days.

Your support options

  • We want to continue to support you after you turn 21 if you request it. But if you do not want a PA, you do not have to have one
  • You can decide to have a PA at any time up until your 25th birthday
  • If you have decided to have PA support after 21, but change your mind, tell us. We must withdraw the support
  • If you continue with PA support, you will still need to have a pathway plan

Your Pathway Plan

After you turn 21, pathway planning will only focus on the specific issues or difficulties that you and your PA have identified together. If you only want support for a short time this is fine.

Your pathway plan will only be in place while you are receiving support. You must work with your PA, and carry out your parts of the plan.

Financial help

Your PA support includes helping you find sources of funding. Access to the leaving care grant will be able to continue after you are 21.

We will not provide new funding after you are 21.
