Doctors
If you are feeling physically unwell or struggling with your mental health, contact your General Practitioner (GP). Read more about mental health and wellbeing support.
If you are not registered with a GP or move to a new area, you will need to find a local doctor.
Visit the NHS website to find a local doctors' surgery
You can register with most surgeries online. Or you can complete a GP registration form which is available from the surgery. They will ask for proof of your identity and address. Even if you do not have this, you should still be able to register and make an appointment.
If you have a problem registering for a GP
Contact your personal adviser for support if you have problems registering.
Dentists
Do not forget to go to the dentist for a check-up. The time between check-ups can vary from three months to two years. This depends on how healthy your teeth and gums are and your risk of future problems.
Find a dentist
Visit the NHS website to find a NHS dentist
Many dentists accept both NHS and private patients. The number of NHS patients they accept may be limited. You may need to join a waiting list.
If you can't find a dentist
If you're struggling to register with a dentist, speak to your personal adviser.

Opticians
You should get your eyes checked by an optician at least every two years, or whenever you think you need to.
You can get a free NHS eye test if you meet the eligibility criteria or get certain benefits.
