Health protection

Health protection seeks to prevent and control infectious diseases and other threats to the health of the population.

The Director of Public Health has a statutory responsibility to provide assurance that adequate arrangements are in place to protect the health of residents.

We'll work closely with the Local Resilience Forum and other agencies to prepare for future health protection emergencies.

We aim to protect every person, whatever their circumstances, from infectious and non-infectious health hazards.  And when such hazards occur, we aim to minimise their continued impact on the public's health.
