Day services
A person can only access day services if they have been found to be eligible through a Care Act assessment and the service will meet their identified needs.
There are many other organisations with the local community who offer opportunities for people to learn, take part, connect with others and make friends without the need for a Care Act assessment.
About day services
Day services are community-based or based in a certain building. They are services that support adults with learning disabilities to:
- Learn new skills
- Take part in activities
- Meet new people
- Receive personal care, outside of their home
They give families and carers a break during the day or give family members the opportunity to work. Service users are usually expected to pay a contribution towards the cost of the service they use.
