The Aiphone Wireless Video Doorbell
The Aiphone WL-11 is a wireless video doorbell and intercom system. It allows you to see and speak to visitors at your door using a portable handset with a monitor for added security and reassurance.
Advantages of the system
- You can see and speak to visitors at your door: it provides clear colour video and two-way communication
- Wireless and easy to install: it does not need wiring, making it simple to install in most homes.
- A portable handset: you can carry it around the home so you can answer calls from different rooms
- Automatic image recording: it captures up to three images per call. It also stores images of visitors for later viewing
- Night visibility: built-in LED illumination means you can see visitors in low light conditions
- Good wireless range: works up to about 100 metres (330 ft), depending on environment
Where to buy the system
Norfolk County Council does not currently provide the Aiphone Wireless Video Doorbell. If you wish to buy one, we suggest using the Online Security Products website.
Important considerations
- Walls or obstacles in the home may reduce the wireless range
- The door unit is battery-operated and will need periodic battery replacement
- You must keep the handset charged using the provided docking station
- Users need to be comfortable operating basic controls (answering calls, viewing screen)
- There is no remote monitoring, unlike some smart doorbells. So it relies on you being within range
Positioning guidance
- Install the door station at a suitable height to get a clear view of the visitor's face
- Avoid placing the handset too far from the door unit to maintain signal quality
- Ensure you have the camera at the correct angle to cover the entrance area
- Check for signal strength in different parts of the home when positioning the charging base
