Norfolk libraries are safe, welcoming spaces available to everyone – and it’s free to join. You can join if you live, work or study in Norfolk, or close to a Norfolk library. If you're studying here, use your term-time address as your main contact address.
We will send you a welcome email with further details
Once your account is created, we will send you an email with your borrower number so you can start to use our online library services
Once you have your borrower number you can download the Spydus library app, and set up your account in the app. This will create a barcode that you can scan to borrow books from our libraries and for access to Open Library.
We’ll post your membership card to you within 7 to 10 days of filling in the online form.
Finally, you will need to provide proof of address. You can do this in person at a library, or by emailing a clear scanned copy to libraries@norfolk.gov.uk.
You may be entitled to an equal access card, if you have a physical or mental impairment that has a 'substantial' and 'long-term' negative effect on your ability to do normal daily activities as defined in the Equality Act. This means you will not pay overdue charges.
Let us know when you register and we may be able to give you an equal access card.
