Safe school run pledge

Norfolk County Council Road Safety Team has been working alongside the Norfolk Road Safety Partners to support school with a school led project to support creating a safe school gate environment.

The Road Safety Communities Team has developed an initiative to support your school in creating a safer school environment during the school run, as well as promoting active travel.

The 'Safe School Run Pledge' is to promote responsible parking which will help keep our children safe when they are dropped off or picked up outside the school.

The project works with parents/carers to promote safe and considerate parking, this is achieved by parents and carers signing the voluntary pledge, helping to ensure that drop off/collections at their School are as safe as possible. The Pledge has been developed with full support from NCC Road Safety Team and their Partners, Norfolk Constabulary and Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.

Aims

To increase understanding and highlight the importance of safe parking outside the school and promote a safe school gate environment

The school-led scheme offers flexibility in delivery, with advice support and guidance from the Norfolk County Council Road Safety Team, Norfolk Constabulary and Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.
