Better Broadband for Norfolk
Better Broadband for Norfolk (BBfN) was a multi-million pound partnership, transforming broadband speeds across the county by installing high-speed fibre optic networks.
The project was completed in October 2024.
It delivered superfast broadband to over 200,000 premises across Norfolk, helping to increase superfast broadband coverage from 42% in 2012 to 97.5% by mid 2025.
It was funded through:
- Norfolk County Council
- DEFRA via The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD)
- BT
- The Department of Culture, Media and Sport via BDUK (Broadband Delivery UK)
There has also been additional support from:
- The New Anglia LEP
- Five of Norfolk's district councils
