Improving broadband for Norfolk

Broadband cables

Norfolk County Council are already delivering improvements to the digital infrastructure within Norfolk. We're operating several programmes that are already benefiting local businesses and the community.

In 2011 only 42% of Norfolk properties had a connection to superfast broadband. The majority of these were in the larger urban centres, particularly Norwich. This coverage figure now stands at over 95% across Norfolk, and continues to grow.

Two programmes are now under way to deliver superfast and ultrafast broadband across Norfolk:

  • BBfN (Better Broadband for Norfolk)
  • LFFN (Local Full Fibre Network)

A third programme is due to start in 2021:

  • Project Gigabit
