Changing your plans
Sometimes things don't work out. You might find a course, apprenticeship, job or higher education is not right for you.
Our care leavers should speak to your Life Beyond Care personal adviser, friends or family before making a final decision. With their support, it might be possible to resolve the things you find difficult.
If you are in education or training
If you cannot resolve the issues, you should tell your education or training provider that you are planning to leave.
If you are in higher education read the Complete University Guide advice.
If you leave your university course, then you will need to tell Student Finance as soon as possible. This is because there will be financial implications connected to your Tuition Fee and Maintenance Loans.
If you are on benefits
If you are on benefits you will need to let your work coach know.
