The Assembly Room is located on the first floor of the Town Hall, in the charming market town of Downham Market.
The ceremony room benefits from dual-aspect windows overlooking the town square and historic Grade II listed Victorian clock tower.

Ceremony times
Ceremonies take place on the hour:
- Thursdays from 11am-4pm
- Fridays from 11am-4pm
- Saturdays from 11am-4pm
Capacity
The capacity is for 66 people (this includes children and babies) which includes the two witnesses and a photographer if you are having one, but does not include the couple and the two registrars. Outdoor ceremonies are not offered from this location.

Access
The ceremony room is on the first floor of the building and is fully accessible by lift or stairs.
Ceremony arrival times
For couples who want to arrive separately and not see each other before the ceremony begins, we advise staggering your arrival times:
- Partner one and all your guests should arrive 20 minutes before the ceremony start time
- Partner two please arrive 15 minutes before the ceremony start time
For couples who are arriving together, please arrive, with your guests, 20 minutes before the ceremony start time where you will be met by a member of our team.
Parking
There is no parking available at Downham Market Town Hall. There are parking facilities very close to the Town Hall and around Downham Market town centre, the nearest car parks are the Hollies Car Park, Priory Road Car Park or Wales Court Shopping Centre. There is limited parking directly outside the Town Hall when the Market is not in place.
Animals
Animals are not allowed into the building, with the exception of service dogs.
Music
We have a modern sound system at Downham Market for you to use. You must bring your own music to the ceremony with you on CD or your phone. Wi-Fi is not available.
Photographs
You are welcome to take photos in the ceremony room and to use the front of the building as a backdrop for photographs, where there are pillars framing the ceremony room window.
Confetti
All confetti must be bio-degradable. Confetti is not permitted in the building, but can be thrown outside away from the main entrance.
Waiting area
There is not a dedicated ceremony waiting area, but guests can wait in the downstairs reception area.
Food and drink
No food or drink is to be consumed in the ceremony area.
Smoking
Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not allowed.
Visiting with children
Baby changing facilities are available. There is limited space inside the Assembly Room for pushchairs/buggies.
