Older driver workshop
In partnership with Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service, we are offering free workshops for older drivers.
We've designed the workshops to help you approach driving safely as your grow older.
Who this workshop is for
Drivers aged 60 and over who are looking to:
- Reflect on, or refresh, their theoretical knowledge of safe driving
- Understand where to get support to continue to travel safely and confidently
We also welcome family members who wish to find out:
- What support is available for older people to travel safely
- What changes to look out for
About the workshop
Norfolk Public Health's Road Safety Team created the workshop, in collaboration with health and driving professionals. Members of Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service deliver the workshop.
Workshop content
You'll get:
- Information on how ageing can affect your driving
- Tips and tools to help you drive safely for longer
- A chance to ask questions about driving
By the end of the workshop, we hope you will:
- Understand how we all share responsibility for road safety
- Know about the latest Highway Code updates (2022)
- Have learnt how to spot risks and drive with care
- Feel more confident when driving
- Know more about prioritising driver wellbeing
- Know how health, eyesight, and medication can affect driving
- Have explored other ways to travel safely so you can stay independent
Length of workshop
The workshop is 2.5 hours and will include breaks.
We will supply refreshments during face to face sessions.
Cost
The workshop is free to attend. Norfolk Road Safety Partnership fund the workshop.
