NPCC Operation Spotlight - 1 to 28 April 2026

NPCC Operation Apex - 2Wheel Operation - 1 to 14 June 2026
This operation will focus on the safety of cyclists and motorcyclists who are two of the vulnerable road user groups. Engaging with riders to raise awareness and provide education, promoting safer behaviour amongst all road users who share road space.

Ride To Work Day is a global initiative, supported in the UK by the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG), that encourages people to commute by motorcycle or scooter. The campaign highlights how practical, efficient and beneficial powered two‑wheelers can be for everyday travel.

International Walk to School Month - October 2026
Walk to School Month highlights the benefits of walking and wheeling to school. In previous years, Living Streets went on an Autumn Street Safari, where children and their guardians collected items enjoying autumn-themed activities on their way to school. Another theme included looking at the impact of traffic pollution on climate change and wildlife.

NPCC Operation Insight - 26 October to 8 November 2026
Focusing on pedestrians and horse riders during darker months due to reduced visibility and increased collisions. Engaging with these groups on safety and visibility, while also promoting safer behaviour from all road users. The operation will also highlight the importance of good eyesight and meeting minimum vision standards.

Road Safety Week - November 2026

NPCC Operation Limit - 1 December 2026 to 1 January 2027
There will be increased presence of all Police forces across England and Wales on the UK's roads and intensified enforcement activity with the aim of preventing deaths and serious injuries caused by people who drive while under the influence of drink or drugs.

Project EDWARD - Throughout 2026
Project EDWARD is the UK's biggest platform for sharing good practice in road safety. It is managed by Projects Zero and supported by government, the emergency services, highways agencies, road safety organisations and UK businesses. The campaign promotes an evidence‑based 'safe system' approach, aiming for a future where no one is killed or seriously injured on our roads. Project EDWARD now runs a year‑round programme of events and activities to showcase and share effective road safety practice.

New Rider Hub - Campaigns
The National Young Rider Forum has been involved in or supported many campaigns, Ready to Ride; Mental Models; #FilteriFriendly; Know the Dangers; Safe Riding Tips Infographics; Travel Like you know them; Bare Bones; Angry Al!, Street Spirit, Jerks at Junctions and the campaign EURO 2024 infographics highlighting potential 'red card offences' that could result in a fine, ban, arrest or even jail.

Ready to Ride film
National Young Rider Forum's 'Ready to Ride' is an informative and engaging film which details the steps that a young person needs to take if they are considering becoming a motorcyclist. It covers vital topics such as license requirements, CBT, PPE, maintaining a motorcycle and riding safely in sections presented by young people themselves.
