How parents and carers can get involved with SEND services
SEND Communication Matters - parent/carer reference group
Parents/carers views ideas and perspectives help us make sure that our information and communications are family-friendly, useful and accessible to everyone.
SEND Communication Matters is a parents/carers reference group that meets every half-term. Open to all parents/carers who have a child with SEND aged 0-25. The meetings are online via Microsoft Teams.
Information about what will be discussed in the meetings is sent out in advance to give everyone time to learn more and consider their views.
Meeting dates for 2026:
- Friday 10 July - 10am-12.15pm or Monday 13 July - 10am-12.15pm
More dates will be announced soon.
There is a 15 minute break in the middle of each meeting.
The types of information and communications that could be discussed could include:
- A leaflet
- A video script
- A webpage
- A poster
- A guide
- A plan
- A social media post
- A news story
Members who cannot or who prefer not to attend meetings can email their views to be considered in the meetings.
