A new independent living scheme to the east of Mendham Lane, Harleston has been approved and is due to be completed in 2026.

The scheme, which will be managed by Saffron Housing, will provide 107 new homes for people aged 55 and over. The scheme will consist of:

  • 75 one-bed and 16 two-bed affordable apartments
  • 12 one-bed and 4 two-bed shared ownership bungalows

This will form part of a wider housing development being created on the site, which will also provide safe walking routes and transport links to the centre of Harleston.

Facilities on site will include a café, hairdresser, resident and guest parking, buggy storage, guest room with en-suite shower, and a sizeable communal garden. People will have peace of mind with on-site care and support.

Located near a range of local amenities and services, the scheme is an ideal location for independent living and is only a short walk to the nearest bus stop, providing regular services to other local areas.

Further information, including how to rent an apartment at the scheme, or how to purchase a shared ownership property, will be published prior to the scheme being completed.

Below are the initial drawings provided by the architect - please note that the final development may contain alterations.
