Setting up an account

This guidance will help you complete each step to register for a Social Care Online account.

You'll need an email address and a landline or mobile phone number which has good signal. This is because you'll use your phone every time you login.

How to register for an account, when you receive an invite

  1. You'll receive an email, titled 'Set up your Adult Social Care Online Account'.
  2. Click on the link entitled 'Please fill in this form to set up the account'.
  3. Complete the Account Request form.  
  4. You'll need to create a login or use an existing login when you see the message in the form: 'In order to progress with this form you must either log in or complete a simple registration for a new login'. Select 'Login or Register' to continue.
  5. If you already have a login, enter your email address and password, and select 'Sign in', then skip to step 14. If you do not have a login, select 'Sign up now'.
  6. Input your email address and select 'Send verification code'. 
  7. Without closing the sign in page, go to your email inbox. You will have received an email titled 'Norfolk County Council account verification code'. The email will contain a 6-digit code. Note: This email could take a few minutes to arrive. If you can't see it, check your spam folder
  8. Return to the registration page and put the code into the 'Verification code' field. Then select 'verify code'.
  9. Your email address is now verified. Add your password, confirm password, first name and surname. Then select 'Create'. 
  10. You now need to provide a phone number.  This will be used to confirm your identity every time you log in.  This can be either a landline or mobile phone number, but it needs to have good signal.  
  11. If you're adding a landline, then select 'Call Me'. You'll then receive an automated call and it will prompt you to press the hash key (#) on your phone.
  12. If you're adding a mobile phone number, you can select 'Send Code' or 'Call Me'. If you select 'Send Code' you'll receive a text message containing a six-digit code, which you'll need to enter. If you select 'Call Me' you'll receive an automated call and it will prompt you to press the hash key (#) on your phone.
  13. You'll then be asked to repeat this process to confirm your phone number. 
  14. You'll now see the Your Details page. Your details will already be filled in, although you can add a telephone number in the relevant box if you wish. 
  15. At the next page you must provide the details of the person whose record you wish to have access to. This may be yourself.
  16. At the final page, you can submit the form.
  17. Log out by selecting your name from the top of the screen.
  18. We'll contact you if we need any further information. When we activate your account, you'll receive an email titled 'Online Social Care Account activation'. This means that your account is now ready to use. The email will contain a link you can follow to log in to your account, using the email address and password that you have set up.
